To ski Christmas I think is a real privilege and once you have skied this popular week, your probably never want to ski anything else again. Personally speaking, in the past I for one, found the UK experince a little overwhelming. The build up typically meaning that by the beginning of December I had already grown tired of Christmas already.
As Mother, and one who thinks the world of my two children, I recognise of course that Christmas is about them, but back in the UK I always thought even for the younger ones, that once the present opening was concluded, and the playing with the games exhausted, that it was something that was all too quickly over, before the tears begin.
Sorry if the above sounds a little too negative and I'll come to the point on why skiing at Christmas is money well spent. For a starter families can get away and be together, not just for a day or two, but some great time all week! The big day, Christmas Day of course, is a mixture of excitement, the roaring log fire, the presents under the Christmas tree, but this is just the start of a great day. A warm welcome from your chalet hosts, a Bucks Fizz breakfast with smoked salmon and scrabbled eggs, and if you have booked a ski in ski out chalet, whilst watching skier ski by.
On your return, there's no need to worry, let the children play while the rest of the family soothe those aching ski legs in the jacuzzi and await for the traditional Christmas dinner to be served by your professional chef!
All in all, a ski Christmas break is unique, it balances great food with good wine, whilst staying healthy skiing, which also helps focus the children, and saves the stress of over excitement.
And don't worry, Granny can come too, as its amazing how much they enjoy the luxury and atmoshere of the chalet and towns, plus of course spending seven days with the family and most importantly grand children.
A family ski holiday, the best way to spend Christmas.
