Ski In Ski Out

Ski In Ski Out in my opinion means a chalet that is next to the piste. Whilst many claim their ski chalet is 'ski in ski out', the reality is in my opinion far from the truth. If you are looking for a ski in out chalet, I would therefore suggest that you are careful when booking and ask some specific questions to ascertain what they mean by the definition 'ski in ski out':

  1. How far is the chalet from the piste (in metres - an operators 2 minutes probably means 10(!))
  2. Is the piste part of the main network, and can you ski down a piste, to a lift connected to the main ski network
  3. Being a family ski holiday, what colour piste is that passes the chalet
If you ask these simple questions, and assess the answers carefully, you should hopefully avoid the unscrupulous chalets that claim they are ski in ski out, but are in effect 400m or more from the piste, and ski in ski out might mean crossing roads, jumping fences, and dodging trees and stumps!!

If asking these questions seem too much like hard work, there are always credible ski in ski out operators. Our own ski in ski out Chamonix luxury catered chalet is one, or the specialist operator Ski In Ski Out who can offer ski in ski out chalets worldwide.
